JERSEY RECORDS BROKEN AT GLANMOR
A select reduction of Dafydd & Helen Cox’ prize-winning Glanmor Herd saw new records for a herd sale set as local and distant buyers bidded fast and furiously for all ages. Auctioneer Huw Evans had not conducted a sale of the breed with such spirited biding in over 30 years in the rostrum. Top call was for Glanmor Ring Pheonix a Ringmaster daughter of Crackers Pheobe, Excellent, and Certificate of Merit bred from a Lindsay family. Purchaser at 2600gns was Gareth Morgan for the Phimor Herd at Fishguard who also acquired Glanmor Romeo Pernod, a Tregibby Romeo daughter recently classified VG with 86 points at 2000gns within a group of seven to add to his new herd. The Warren family travelled from near Lands End in Cornwall taking home 11 including the Tregibby Romeo daughter of last years Welsh Dairy Show Champion Glanmor Style Fimble now classified EX with 93 points. The final call for this 86 point heifer was 2000gns. Leading the young stock at 1800gns was the April 2007 Glanmor Julian Winc sired by Valleystream Julian one of the best sires used within the herd in recent years.
